About Bolt Bench

Bolt Bench is an independent review site covering one question in depth: Best Crossbows for Beginners. We currently track 10 options and re-score them as prices, specs and availability change.

We are reader-funded. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy through them. That never changes a score or a position - the ranking is set before any link is added, and our scoring methodology is published in full.

Every review is written by our editorial team from published specifications and owner reports - we do not run our own range tests. Spotted an error, a price that has moved or a spec we got wrong? Get in touch and we will fix it.

How we handle the handful of data this site collects is set out in our privacy policy, and the terms of use cover everything published here.

Beyond the rankings, our step-by-step how-to coverage - cocking, sighting in, restringing and more - lives on our crossbow blog.
